Events & programmes

The year between the festivals.

Festivals are five days. The rest of the calendar is where careers actually move: residential writing camps, screenings with embassies, technical training in Nepali, and a monthly room where anyone in Nepali film can walk in and be heard.

02 / Filming in Nepal

Lights, Camera, Himalayas.

Every international production that shoots in Nepal is paid work for Nepali crew, actors and service providers, and a record of the country on screen. The academy exists to make that happen more often: a single trusted point of contact for filmmakers navigating Nepal’s regulatory and logistical landscape.

Nepal’s natural beauty, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, living traditions and topographical diversity make it one of the world’s most compelling filming destinations. NFCA’s networks, built across nine editions of NIFF, connect incoming productions with local talent, locations and institutional support.
