
The 8th Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF), in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and ROSKINO, have launched Russian Film Day, a special homage to Russian cinema and consisting of three exciting Russian films for the Nepali audiences. We invite you to witness a full day’s worth of Russian cinematic content at Russian Film Day 2025.

1. Втроём | Threesome (90 mins, directed by Alexandra Sarana)
Synopsis: At first glance, Dasha’s life is not a fairy tale. She holds a high position in the Ministry of Culture, a young man who bought an apartment for their future family is in love with her. But in reality, not everything is smooth at work, the new apartment overlooks a vacant lot, and her lover is more interested in his mother’s opinion. Dasha decides to escape – on a business trip to the Perm region. Her unexpected fellow traveler is a young bar owner, Sergei. Now strangers to each other will have to travel through Perm cities and villages, meet people who are alien to the ambitions and bustle of the metropolis.

Synopsis: Moving to the capital from St. Petersburg, Masha hopes to spend her last year in the physics and mathematics school quietly and without adventures. However, love, which she cannot control, shatters her plans. He is her classmate Zhenya, a young talented sculptor. Synopsis: 1945. The International Military Tribunal begins its work in Nuremberg. A huge number of people from all over the world come to the trial, which will later be called the Trial of the Century: the city is overflowing with journalists, lawyers, translators, witnesses and many participants and employees of the trial. Among those who come to Nuremberg to work on the Trial is Igor Volgin. He is young, but he went through the war, has awards, and speaks several foreign languages. Volgin is to be a translator in the Soviet delegation led by Colonel Migachev. One day on the streets of Nuremberg, Volgin meets a young Russian girl, Lena. Their nascent feelings will go through many trials, but love is the only thing that has always saved the world from dehumanization.
