Screenwriting Workshop 2019

Nepal Film and Cultural Academy understand the importance of great writers and screenplay talent for the development of Nepal’s film and media sector and enhancing cultural export, and with its comprehensive Screenwriting Workshop, aims to help fill the talent shortfall in this area. The last comprehensive Screenwriting Workshop was held in Chitlang village (Makwanpur). This 7-day closed-camp workshop involved 70 talented writers and filmmakers from the Nepali film and media scene, and also facilitated a series of filmwriting classes, panels talks, exchanges, field visits and so on. This was one of Nepal’s biggest film writing workshops (period) with renowned screenwriters Mr. Robin Bhatt (from India) and Mr. Jeff Monahan (from the USA) as mentors. The event also hosted programs by Nepal’s top film writers like Abhimanyu Nirabi and Shivam Adhikari, sessions with veterans like Neer Shah, and interactions with successes like Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shri and Kedar Ghimire.
